Closed for the holidays

Hi all

We’re now officially closed for the school holidays. We’ll be back on deck on Monday 21 July.

I am hopeful that Kalimna will have her cast off by then and everything will be running smoothly. Fingers crossed! Tahlia will also be here to help out on Fridays for at least the first week.

I will still be away for the first week, I am returning on Monday 28 July and will be looking forward to seeing you then.

We’re excited that we’ve been able to continue our relationship with Project Stationery this year - and they’ll be utilsiing our space for the first few days of the holidays - great to know that even though our programs are having a brief hiatus the centre is being used for excellent community purposes! Check out the post below to see if you have things that they are collecting at your house.

Please check out the program for Semester 2 below. We’d love to see you here.

And I wish you a restful holiday for the next two weeks.

If you are wanting to know where I am, I should be in Provence, staying in a town just outside Avignon - checking out the lavender fields, old towns and rose wine!

Cheers Leanne

This week

All going according to plan (thank goodness I was disorganised and missed the cheap deals on Qatar earlier in the year … so had to book with Malaysian Airlines) when you are reading this I am in Lyon, France. And yikes, it is going to be hot!

  • Forecast Temperature Melbourne: 5-14 degrees

  • Forecast Temperature Lyon: 22-34 degrees

I am visiting my oldest daughter who has been studying at uni in Lyon for the last 6 months - so I am very excited to see her! And I hope and trust that everything is going smoothly at ACC.

Tahlia is in the office this week holding the fort. I am sure she will be able to answer all your questions, and if not, she can touch base with Kalimna to sort things out. And if that fails I can check emails overseas.

Community Lunch is still on - we’re having bolognese this week along with a green salad and garlic bread. All welcome at 12pm. And of course you can pop in to gardening beforehand to work up your appetite - from 10am with Clare.

This week we have the Thursday morning and evening book clubs on. We’re looking forward to seeing you! A reminder to all book club members that we will close for the school holidays at the end of this week - so it is important to pop in and collect your books (if you missed your scheduled meeting) before 2pm Friday, and please drop your books back at the library if they are overdue rather than leaving them here - once we close on Friday we cant return them until we are back on 21 July.

Our new program is out for Semester 2, so you can check it out below, and book in via our website. We’re excited by all the things coming up in the second half of they year and hope you are too!

Have a great week. See you soon.

Cheers Leanne
