Music from the Wetlands

We’re getting excited about this fabulous event returning. And the weather looks great at this stage … so come along this coming Sunday

  • Follow the music - march from Alphington Park at 11:45am

  • Arrive for lunch. BYO picnic or buy food from the Bowls Club Sausage Sizzle, Alphington Soccer Club and Little Bertha Crepes, Woking Amazing, and the CWA who will be offering fruit sticks and zooper doopers.

  • The first band playing is Wing Defence - some of our talented young locals!

  • Don’t forget your water bottle - a filtered water hydration station will be on site.

  • This is a licensed event so sorry, no BYO alcohol. Drinks at Bowls Club prices!

  • Always wanted to hone your juggling skills?  Now’s your chance - juggling workshop open to all from 2pm to 4pm

  • There are LOTS of kids’ activities all day - Paint The Wetlands, nature crowns, face painting, the Scout climbing wall and more …

  • And bands and music all day!

  • Along with displays from local environmental groups - including the Field Naturalists and Friends of Merri Creek.

Wednesday playgroup

Come along … come along! 10-12 Wednesdays we have a lovely mix of families who are regularly attending our Playtime in the Garden. There are mums and dads and grandparents and carers … and Lee sets up creative activities - and even makes cups of tea (or you can help yourself … or buy a fancy coffee next door!) What more could you ask for?

Toy library

The Alphington Toy Library has been reinvented online. You can now scroll though all the toys, book them at a time that suits you, then pop past to collect them on Tuesdays.

Find out more and join up here.

This week Sarah (our volunteer who comes along to fill the orders) has put together some borrowing ideas for the theme

‘Do you want to come to my party?

Toys in our library that fit in with this theme include:

  • costumes - pirate, fairy, ballerina etc.

  • outdoor games - stilts, tunnels, parachute for group activities etc.

  • wooden birthday cake

  • party set (great for sustainable parties)

  • tea set

  • board games

Playtime in the garden

Looking for a friendly venue for a play on Wednesday mornings? Come along and visit our garden (and indoor space when the weather isn’t so great!) between 10am-12pm.

You can grab a coffee from the local shops or pack your snacks and just come on in. We have a sandpit and cute cubby for imaginative play, and Lee puts out a little suitcase with changing art and craft supplies each week - so there’s always something to keep the littlies busy.

This is a free program that anyone is welcome to attend.

Birthday party hire

Did you know you can hire our venue for kids birthday parties?

We have everything you need … a kitchen and plates and cups, tables and chairs, platters and a lovely flexible indoor/outdoor space with a cubby and sandpit. Just bring along your pass-the-parcel and some fairy bread and sausage rolls and you’re ready to go!

You can find all the details and available times on our website here.
