A second coat on Wednesday … and the second wall started as well. Thanks Manu for stopping by and rolling your sleeves up for a while! It’s starting to really come together now don’t you think?

Paste-up success

We are pretty chuffed that the Alphington Neighbourhood Gallery looks so great on our fence … and that the paste-up process survived the weekend rain … we were a bit nervous.

Below are some photos of Ross O’Meara, our featured artist at the launch on Friday, and here is the link to see his works and find out more about him. If you are interested in purchasing an original work by Ross you can pop in to ACC and check out his folio in the foyer.

Your Darebin - monthly news

This month we were excited that Darebin Council asked to write an article about our Honestly project for Your Darebin. Your Darebin is Council’s online community newsletter which highlights key events and projects happening in the neighbourhood and tells the stories of the people and places that make Darebin a great place to live, work and play.

You can check what they wrote about us here and sign up to receive Your Darebin in your inbox monthly here.

CWA climate emergency talk

We can all see the impact of our changing climate through extreme weather and record bushfires.

Our local CWA is putting on an in-person (how exciting to see real people in real life) climate emergency talk at the Darebin Parklands Gleeson Centre (at the end of Separation Street), accompanied by a catered supper (made by the wonderful CWA cooks) on Monday 29 March, at 7pm.

The talk is presented by Alphington local Graeme Martin, who completed former Vice President Al Gore’s Climate Reality Leadership certification in 2020.

This presentation aims to help people better understand climate change and the range of positive opportunities available to them to take action.

It will cover:

  • The science of climate change and why we must take action

  • Solutions, what are the possibilities that will reduce carbon pollution

  • What we as individuals or organisations can do.

If you are keen to find out more about climate change and what action you can take to make a difference (and to eat yummy food at the same time) you can book in here.
