We are back etc

After a much needed holiday we’re back on deck today and looking forward to resuming our programs and catching up.

And … in holiday news … we were super pleased to be notified over the break that we received a grant through the Australian Mens Shed Association (AMSA) to buy a defibrillator for ACC.

We’ll let you know when it arrives. Once it is installed it will be publicly accessible 24/7 … a wonderful and potentially life saving community asset.

Thanks Suzanne for applying for the grant (as always you are a marvel) and thanks Liz for getting back to us so quickly on behalf of AMSA. Also thanks to Kath from Darebin Council who actioned the letter of support and provided us with advice on the preferred defibrillators for Council owned buildings. It was very helpful!

Small book making - places still available

On Saturday 8th of October from 2-4pm Annie will be teaching a workshop on how to make your own beautiful books here at Alphington Community Centre.

This could be a gorgeous skill to learn with children (or grandchildren even).

Materials are provided.

Click here to enrol and grab one of the last few places.

Food

This week we cooked up a batch of middle eastern chicken with lentils and pumpkin to restock our freezer. We often have meals available for anyone who needs one - if you are not feeling well, not feeling up to cooking, need a break or a hand let us know.

And if you need more regular help with groceries and household supplies due to financial stress we can put you in contact with the services you need.

In this dish the pumpkin came from Leanne’s garden, the lentils came from MFM and the parsley from ACC - a meal full of local love and a real shared neighbourhood effort!
