Alphington open studios

We’re super excited to be partnering with local artists across the neighbourhood once again as part of the annual Alphington Open Studios weekends.

At ACC we are hosting the salon exhibition, that features two works from every artist who is part of the event, and other local artists are invited to be part of it as well!

To join in just register here. It is free, with a small fee charged for processing any works sold.

Alphington Open Studios will run on 26/27 November (with opening night drinks here at ACC on Friday 25 November) and will remain open the following weekend - 3/4 December.

Christmas makers market

Are you a local maker? Would you like to have a stall at our upcoming Christmas Makers Market. It is going to be on Saturday 26 November which is in fact election day … always a fabulous day to be out and about in the community and walking in the neighbourhood. So we expect lots of local to stroll past … and hopefully combine their democracy activity with some retail therapy …

If you are keen for a stall you can book here.

If you are keen to get a jump on Christmas shopping and buy lovely things from local makers then save the date.

As usual we will have a lovey craft activity for any children who come along and a sausage sizzle to keep energy levels up.

AGM tonight

A reminder that our AGM is on tonight at 7pm if you’d like to come along … here at ACC, 2 Kelvin Road, Alphington.

We’d love to see you! RSVP here.

And here’s a sneak peek at our annual report. It looks great doesn’t it? Thanks to Kalimna for her beautiful photos and Lee for her graphic design.

Lovely to have the Minister for Women and Minister for Education Natalie Hutchins and local MP Kat Theophanous at Peer Support Playgroup on Tuesday.

We talked about how neighbourhood houses started as women’s organisations (and Natalie took a tour around the centre) before Natalie chatted to some mums about managing work and the juggle with family, childcare etc. - issues exacerbated for families living with disability.

She also talked o Sarah who volunteers here and is completing her VCE as a mature aged student part time through CAE.

Thanks for organising Kat. It is super for our community to have direct, thoughtful and meaningful conversations at this level.
