connecting our community

This week

A short and somewhat crazy week last week - lots of meetings and organising etc etc.. And suddenly here we are with the Alphington Show upon us!

Also … footy tipping. Round one was abysmal (for me anyway, I am coming last having guessed just one winner …) which means that if you haven’t joined up yet, but are feeling so inclined (even after the season has started) you will still be ahead of me (you get given the away teams if you forget to pick any week - which means you might even skyrocket to the top of the ACC ladder!).

Anyway … here’s the link if you want to be a part of our friendly competition!

Preserves Group is on Tuesday - we’re making some cumquat marmalade with fruit from Margaret’s tree, some more tomato relish, some pickles and some stonefruit jam in preparation for the Alphington Show. Come along from 1pm Tuesday afternoon if you’d like to join in this cook up.

On Thursday we have Crunch at 12.30pm and then Alphington Arts at night time from 7.30pm. We’ll be doing some work with clay in the night session if anyone is interested in joining in.

THEN …..FRIDAY …. drop your Alphington Show items in before 5pm. And come along on Saturday for a great community day 11am-2pm - market stalls, sausages, CWA Devonshire tea, petting zoo, and THE DOG SHOW at 1pm. It’s going to be fun! We also hope to have some live music this year on the corner …

So, lastly, one final push to get lots of entries into the show …. a reminder that the categories this year are:
